ABOUT WASHU AWARDS 2024

Washu Awards, previously named Hong Kong Washu Awards, is opening a new page in 2024, working with partners from around Asia and we continue to aim to promote Japanese Wine and Japanese Sake to professionals and end consumers, but with a broader vision.

Japanese Wine has gained global awareness in the past few years, stunning the market with its unique terroir and improving quality. We believe working with partners (media, sommeliers, industry professionals) around Asia will open more opportunities for the category and bring Japanese to more markets. Japanese Sake has been a growing beverage category globally. The awareness and numbers of Japanese restaurants in all price tiers have been growing. 

Japanese Sake, on the other hand, is transforming to a global beverage. Our judge panel consists of members not only from Hong Kong but from various areas in Asia (tentatively Macau, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and maybe more!) with different backgrounds (wine journalist, wine educator, wine judges, sommelier etc), aiming to give diverse opinions and comments on the entries.
